I lost a single airpod in the middle of a long multi-state trip. I debated what to do, found this company, and ultimately decided on Tuesday to order a new one with TheRightOne, paying $15 extra to use the fastest possible delivery option of “two-day shipping”. It had a "promised" delivery date of Friday and I didn't leave until the next Monday, so I thought I was in the clear with two or three days of buffer. Wrong I was. They shipped it with FedEx and unbeknownst to me, they explicitly requested no weekend deliveries. Why?? I do not know. So when there was a delay at FedEx, the package was not one day late but rather three days late, meaning the supposed “two-day shipping” took six days, because it spent the weekend sitting at the FedEx facility a couple miles from where I was staying. I called FedEx repeatedly (after trying to use the website) trying to get them to either deliver early or pick it up early or return it to sender and they said there was nothing they could do and I had to contact the shipper. Several emails to TheRightOne explaining the whole situation went completely unanswered. On Monday morning when I had to leave to catch my flight, I left a large note on the door explaining that I rejected receipt of the package and to return it to sender. The package, of course, got delivered anyway, just a few hours after I left the state for good, and of course before TheRightOne customer service ever responded. FedEx would not pick it back up despite my pleas (understandable). No idea what happened to the package but I couldn't access it and never did— probably ended up stolen or in a landfill, who knows. Thinking this was a fluke and blaming myself, I submitted a brand new order, paying another $80 to order it AGAIN to the next place I was staying. This time it was again three days later than the "promised" delivery date. I of course had already left that destination. Thankfully the place I left was (this time) a friend's house so they got the package, shipped it to me and it worked. So I finally got my replacement Airpod— 34 days after originally ordering it, after paying for it twice, and after three ludicrous cross-country shipping adventures.
One more thing that's unfortunate: when I ordered it the first time, I was staying on the east coast and the package got shipped from San Jose California (other side of the country). When I ordered it the second time, I was staying within 50 miles of San Jose California, and yet it shipped from Raleigh, North Carolina (other side of the country!). It's like each time they purposefully chose to ship it from the warehouse furthest away from me??
I understand this isn't 100% their fault: they don't control FedEx, delivery estimates are an estimate, and maybe the warehouse location was chosen due to stock shortages at the other one, I can’t say. And of course I am the one who chose to boldly order something knowing that if it was awfully late I might not be able to retrieve it. However: (1) who in their right might would imagine that “two-day shipping” would take six days, and (2) this company put the word "promise" next to the delivery estimate both times, which to me means something, and (3) the customer service was horrendous: the time of this writing, three weeks after this whole debacle wrapped up, I have received a grand total of exactly one response in total to my four emails. All it said was "According to FedEx, this order was delivered on January 5th. Do you recognize the delivery location?" Nothing else. This was AFTER I had explained everything, AFTER I had explained that the package was getting shipped to an address in a state I had already left. Never got a reply to my two follow ups to that, nor do I think they really read either of the two emails I sent them before that. Never got an apology for the shipment being terribly late twice. Never got a cent of compensation for the fact I had to pay double and only got it once.
Two stars instead of one because the product works. But that's because product is made by Apple. The only thing this "business" brings to the table, besides just reselling Apple's products, is supposed to be logistics and customer service, and they failed on both fronts. Avoid this company at all costs.
